NOVELTY - An aqueous intumescent fire-retardant coating comprises component (A) and component (B) in weight ratio of 1:1-1:1.5. The component (A) comprises 20-40 wt.% aqueous resin, 5-20 wt.% charring agent, 5-10 wt.% foaming agent, 1-5 wt.% hollow glass microspheres, 0-0.5 wt.% dispersant, 0-0.5 wt.% thickener and 30-50 wt.% water. The component (B) comprises 10-40 wt.% aqueous resin emulsion, 5-20 wt.% flame retardant, 5-10 wt.% charring agent, 0-5 wt.% graphene aqueous slurry, 5-35 wt.% filler, 0-0.5 wt.% dispersant, 0-0.5 wt.% defoamer and 10-40 wt.% water. The filler is a mixture of titanium dioxide and mica powder. USE - Aqueous intumescent fire-retardant coating for building base material such as steel structure and wood structure (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The aqueous intumescent fire-retardant coating has excellent water resistance and corrosion resistance, and provides building base material with dense coating and excellent flame-impact resistance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of the aqueous intumescent fire-retardant coating, which involves mixing aqueous resin and foaming agent with water, stirring and dispersing to obtain mixed solution (A), adding charring agent, dispersant, and thickener to mixed solution (A), stirring to obtain mixed solution (B), adding hollow glass microspheres to mixed solution, stirring and sieving to obtain component (A), mixing all raw materials of component (B), stirring and sieving to obtain component (B) and mixing the component (A) and component (B).
