NOVELTY - Preparing copper alginate hydrogel filter membrane comprises (i) filtering the waste copper ammonia solution, removing insoluble substance, adding a reinforcing agent and sodium alginate into the filtered waste copper ammonia solution respectively, mixing, dissolving and dispersing uniformly to obtain mixture aqueous solution with 0.1-10% sodium alginate and 0.01-10% an enhancer and defoaming; (ii) preparing acid solution as coagulation bath; and (iii) pouring the mixture aqueous solution on a clean glass plate, scraping it with a glass rod with a copper wire with a diameter of 10-1000 mum wound at both ends, and soaking the glass plate and the scraped film immediately into the coagulation bath thus the copper ammonia solution encounters the acid in the coagulation bath to release copper ions, and crosslinking the copper ions immediately with sodium alginate to form a copper alginate hydrogel film. USE - The method is useful for preparing copper alginate hydrogel filter membrane is useful in sewage treatment, dye desalination, dye interception and antibiotic removal (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method: is simple; turns waste into treasure; and prepares copper alginate hydrogel filtration membrane with good antibacterial property.
