NOVELTY - The apparatus has an outer layer (113) and an inner layer (102) is close to the nose and mouth. A heating layer with an electrical heating element (114) generating a sustained temperature high enough to de-activate a pathogen and a power source is providing electricity. A control unit is configured to control the electricity. The passive particle or droplet filter may be replaceable or renewable. The inner layer is replaceable or renewable. The temperature kills the pathogen that can be a bacterium or virus. USE - Apparatus for protecting wearer from spreading and inhaling hazardous atmosphere including fumes, vapors, gases, and particulate matter such as dust and airborne microorganisms. ADVANTAGE - The heat and humidity form a seamless seal around the wearer's face, which helps kill and deactivate various pathogens in the inhaled and exhaled air. The respirator protects the wearer from spreading the virus out into or getting infected from the environment. The thermal filter contains a heating element made of graphene, which is strong, flexible, and has superior thermal conductivity.
