NOVELTY - A graphene modified carbon cathode material comprises graphite (5-20 wt.%) and cathode material (80-95 wt.%). USE - Graphene modified carbon cathode material for use in a lithium ion battery. ADVANTAGE - The cathode material has improved conductivity and cycle stability and high specific capacity of above 70%, and can be prepared in a simple, high safety and cost-effective manner. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for preparing a graphene modified carbon cathode material, which involves weighing graphene and carbon cathode material at a mass ratio of 1:4-1:19, adding the graphene in absolute ethyl alcohol, performing ultrasonic treatment on the mixture for 20-60 minutes to form graphene suspension, stirring the suspension under magnetic force stirring condition, continuously stirring for 16-48 hours to fully mix uniformly, drying at speed of 328-528 rpm for 3-9 hours to obtain a finished product.
