NOVELTY - Brominated butyl rubber is dissolved and dispersed in modified graphene oxide grafted with octadecylamine. Zinc oxide, stearic acid, 2,2'-dithio-dibenzothiazole (accelerator), and tetramethyl thiuram disulfide (accelerator) are added, melted and vulcanized to obtain a brominated butyl rubber airtight material. The airtight material has a tensile strength of 5.7-9.9 MPa, a tensile elongation at break of 680-1081%, a density of 0.92-0.95 g/cm3, a Shore A hardness of 27-32 degrees , an oxygen permeability coefficient of 0.3-0.6 cc.mm/m2.day.mm mercury. USE - Preparation of brominated butyl rubber airtight material for advanced automobile inner tubes, high-pressure gas tank packages, and hydrogen storage materials (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables preparation of lightweight brominated butyl rubber airtight material having excellent strength and airtightness, and low density. The usage amount of reinforcing agent is reduced. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - 100 Pts. wt. brominated butyl rubber is dissolved and dispersed in 0-2 pts. wt. (excluding 0) modified graphene oxide. 6 Pts. wt. Zinc oxide, 1.5 pts. wt. stearic acid, 0.3 pt. wt. 2,2'-dithio-dibenzothiazole (accelerator), and 0.4 pt. wt. tetramethyl thiuram disulfide (accelerator) are added, melted and vulcanized at 175 degrees C and 10 MPa to obtain a brominated butyl rubber airtight material. The airtight material has a tensile strength of 5.7-9.9 MPa, a tensile elongation at break of 680-1081%, a density of 0.92-0.95 g/cm3, a Shore A hardness of 27-32 degrees , an oxygen permeability coefficient of 0.3-0.6 cc.mm/m2.day.mm mercury. Modified graphene grafted with octadecylamine is obtained by dissolving graphene oxide and octadecylamine in water and N,N-dimethylformamide, mixing at 100 degrees C, refluxing for 22 hours, vacuum-filtering, and drying at 60 degrees C.
