NOVELTY - Preparation of composite visible light photocatalyst comprises preparing self-doped tin dioxide (I), preparing composite visible light photocatalyst using graphene oxide and self-doped tin dioxide, and conducting hydroxy reaction to obtain carboxylated composite visible light photocatalyst. USE - Preparation of composite visible light photocatalyst i.e. carboxylated composite visible light photocatalyst used for cotton fabric finishing (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method provides composite visible light photocatalyst, which has energy efficiency and high activity and provides cotton fabric with high lasting anti-UV, antistatic, antibacterial and self-cleaning properties. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of composite visible light photocatalyst comprises preparing self-doped tin dioxide of formula SnO2-x (I), preparing composite visible light photocatalyst using graphene oxide and self-doped tin dioxide, and conducting hydroxy reaction to obtain carboxylated composite visible light photocatalyst. x=doping ratio of divalent tin, i.e. 0-1. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for use of composite visible light photocatalyst for cotton fabric finishing comprising surface modifying cotton fabric, and finishing the cotton fabric using the composite visible light photocatalyst.
