NOVELTY - Preparing wrinkled graphene-based single-atom catalysts by atomization pyrolysis comprises (1) preparing graphene oxide suspending solution, mixing with the metal precursor solution uniformly to obtain the mixed solution, (2) atomizing and pyrolyzing the mixed solution to obtain the corrugated spherical graphite oxide alkenyl metal single-atom catalyst and (3) calcining the corrugated spherical graphene oxide-based metal single-atom catalyst under an inert or reducing atmosphere to regulate the coordination environment of the single atom to obtain a wrinkled spherical graphene-based metal single-atom catalyst. USE - The catalyst is useful for an electrocatalytic process (one of electrolysis of water hydrogen production reaction, fuel cell reaction, air battery reaction or carbon dioxide reduction reaction), a photocatalytic process and a thermocatalytic process (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method: atomizes the suspension by an atomizer and subjecting to heat treatment to achieve batch preparation of wrinkled spherical graphene single-atom catalysts with controllable size and flexibly adjusts the physical and chemical properties e.g. the wrinkle degree, specific surface area, electrochemical active area, hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity of the graphene support, as well as the single-atom electronic structure and intrinsic catalytic properties.
