NOVELTY - Production of chain element(s) involves forming a graphene-reinforced carbide layer on a surface of at least one base element made of steel, providing at least one basic element with a surface which has an arithmetic mean roughness value (Ra) of 0.1-0.4 mu m, introducing the basic element into a powder mixture containing aluminum oxide powder, aluminum chloride, graphene powder and a powder comprising iron-vanadium alloy and/or iron-niobium alloy and/or iron-titanium alloy, heating the basic element and the powder mixture at 800-1100 degrees C for at least 120 minutes and removing at least one chain element from the powder mixture, quenching, and annealing the chain element. USE - Production of chain element used for chain drive (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The chain element has excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
