NOVELTY - A reduced graphene oxide composite material comprises substrate containing fibrous material or porous material, and reduced graphene oxide sheet coated on and/or into the substrate. The reduced graphene oxide sheet is functionalized with polymer and coated with silane compound or porphyrin compound. The composite material is prepared by soaking substrate in aqueous solution of polymer/graphene oxide, adding crosslinking agent, adjusting pH, adding reducing agent, and soaking resultant product in solution of silane compound or porphyrin compound at ambient temperature. USE - Reduced graphene oxide composite material is used as household cleaning product for cleaning oil in surrounding environment (e.g. kitchen), and oil e.g. stationary oil, bicycle chain grease, marker pen ink, dye and paint stained on hand. ADVANTAGE - The environmentally-friendly and economical reduced graphene oxide composite material has excellent absorption capacity and reusability, and absorbs oil by efficient and simple process within 20 seconds, and efficiently separate oil/water mixture through a flowing system. The composite material has maximum absorption capacity value for bicycle chain oil and used motorcycle engine oil of 880.8% and 839.1%, respectively. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A reduced graphene oxide composite material comprises substrate containing fibrous material or porous material, and reduced graphene oxide sheet coated on and/or into the substrate. The reduced graphene oxide sheet is functionalized with polymer and coated with silane compound or porphyrin compound. The reduced graphene oxide composite material is prepared by soaking the substrate in aqueous solution of polymer/graphene oxide, adding crosslinking agent or chelating agent, adjusting pH of the resultant solution to weakly acidic, adding reducing agent to reduce graphene oxide absorbed onto the substrate into reduced graphene oxide by hydrothermal process, obtaining polymer/reduced graphene oxide/substrate, and soaking resultant product in solution of silane compound or porphyrin compound at ambient temperature.
