NOVELTY - Preparing graphene oxide comprises (i) mixing graphite, intercalating agent and oxidizing agent and reacting under confined conditions to obtain reaction mixture, (ii) separating the reaction mixture obtained in step (i) to obtain reaction product, and (iii) peeling reaction product obtained in step (ii) in dispersing agent to obtain final product. USE - The graphene oxide is useful for preparing graphene (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method has simple preparation processes, and is suitable for industrial production and also is environmentally friendly. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for use of graphene oxide in preparing graphene comprising (i) carrying out reduction and purification of graphene oxide to obtain graphene dispersion, and (ii) subjecting graphene dispersion obtained in step (i) into heat treatment to obtain final product.
