NOVELTY - The method involves forming a composite layer on a substrate (2) in which the composite layer comprising a layer of solution processed graphene (6) directly adjacent to a layer of metal nanowires (4). The layer of metal nanowires is a monolayer. The layer of metal nanowires is formed on the substrate before the layer of solution processed graphene. The layer of solution processed graphene is formed on the substrate before the layer of metal nanowires. The microstructure has a characteristic length scale. USE - Method for manufacturing conductive thin film. ADVANTAGE - Since the improved electrical properties are provided by the graphene sheets is also robust against mechanical deflection or distortion of the thin film, thus reliability is improved and/or the range of situations in which the thin films is used is increased. Since the individual sheets of the graphene is allowed to wrap around junctions between different wires in the nanowire layer and decrease the resistance, the nanowire layer is allowed to be applied at a lower surface area density. Thus the improved transmittance and reducing cost are achieved. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for an apparatus for manufacturing a conductive thin film. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) - The drawing shows a schematic view of the substrate. Substrate (2) Metal nanowires (4) Graphene (6)
