NOVELTY - Catalyst comprises graphene oxide-containing molecular sieves and metal oxides. The morphology of the catalyst is a multi-stage porous column. USE - The catalyst is used in preparation of toluene and xylene by alkylation of benzene and methanol (claimed). ADVANTAGE - When the catalyst is used in the alkylation reaction of benzene and methanol, it can efficiently improve the conversion rate of benzene, the selectivity of toluene and xylene, and reduces the selectivity of by-product ethylbenzene. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing the catalyst, comprising (1) mixing silicon source, aluminum source, organic template and water to prepare a mixed solution, (2) mixing the graphene oxide dispersion with the mixed solution prepared in step (1), and crystallizing to obtain a molecular sieve containing graphene oxide, and (3) loading the metal source on the graphene oxide-containing molecular sieve to prepare the catalyst.
