NOVELTY - Self-assembled graphene-ruthenium complex monolayer comprises pyrenyl-ruthenium complex monolayer (i) and graphene. USE - Self-assembled graphene-ruthenium complex monolayer. ADVANTAGE - The monolayer has good mechanical and chemical stability, and has controllable film thickness. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of self-assembled graphene-ruthenium complex monolayer comprising taking pyrenyl-ruthenium complex monolayer of formula (i) and dissolving in dichloromethane to obtain 50 mu M ruthenium complex solution; taking sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), dissolving in water to obtain 2% SDS solution, ultrasonically dispersing graphene for 0.5-1.5 hours and centrifuging at 15 kilo revolutions/minute (krpm) for 1-3 hours to obtain graphene dispersion; and taking indium tin oxide substrate, soaking into solution comprising ammonia, hydrogen peroxide and ultrapure water at volume ratio of 1:1:5, removing air bubbles, heating in water bath at 90 degrees C for 0.5-2 hours, washing with ultrapure water, inert gas drying, fixing on spin coater, adding graphene dispersion dropwise, primary spin coating at 150-200 revolutions/minute (rpm) for 3-5 seconds, secondary spin coating at 700-800 rpm for 70-120 seconds, drying, washing with methanol, inert gas drying, soaking in ruthenium complex solution for 10-24 hours, removing air bubbles, washing with dichloromethane and inert gas drying.
