NOVELTY - A surface-coating composition comprises resin(s), and a carbon material chosen from graphene and graphene nanoplatelets. USE - Surface-coating composition is used for coating lead-grids of lead-acid batteries which are used in automotive and uninterruptible power supply applications. ADVANTAGE - The coating improves performance and operational life of the lead-acid batteries, improves adhesion between the grids and active material pastes, and effectively reduces corrosion of the grids. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for method of costing the lead-grid.
