NOVELTY - A graphene/polyimide composite fiber is prepared by ultrasonic treating natural graphite or artificial graphite to obtain graphene or natural graphene or artificial graphene to obtain graphene oxide, adding graphene or graphene oxide to a polyamic acid solution to obtain graphene/polyamic acid spinning stock solution or mixing diamine and dianhydride with graphene or graphene oxide in an organic solvent, polycondensing, and wet spinning or dry spraying wet spinning the spinning stock solution. USE - Method for preparation of graphene/polyimide composite fiber (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method improves spinnability of the polyamic acid solution, improves stability of polyamic acid fiber through using peeled graphene sheet as additive of the polyimide fiber, improves performances of the fiber, overcomes difficult spinning forming problem of the polyamic acid fiber, improves mechanical performances of the composite fiber, and solves uneven dispersing and interface adhesion of graphene in the substrate polymer. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of graphene/polyimide composite fiber involves: (A) using natural graphite or artificial graphite as raw material; (B) ultrasonic treating for 1-60 minutes and centrifuging for 2-10 minutes at 4000-6000 rpm; (C) collecting the upper solution, centrifuging for 1-5 minutes at 12000-15000 rpm, collecting precipitate and vacuum drying to obtain graphene; (D) or using natural graphene or artificial graphene as raw materials, preparing graphene oxide through Hummer method, Staudenmaier method, or Brodie method; (E) dispersing the graphene oxide in water, ultrasonic treating, centrifuging, washing, and vacuum drying to obtain graphene oxide; (F) dispersing the graphene oxide in organic solvent and ultrasonic treating to obtain graphene oxide suspension; (G) mixing diamine and dianhydride in organic solvent, polycondensing in deoxidizing environment for 3-15 hours at - 10 to 30 degrees C to obtain polyamic acid solution with solid content of 5-30 wt.%; (H) adding the graphene or graphene oxide to the polyamic acid solution to obtain graphene/polyamic acid spinning stock solution; (I) or mixing diamine, dianhydride with graphene or graphene oxide in the organic solvent, polycondensing in deoxidizing environment for 3-15 hours at - 10 to 30 degrees C to obtain graphene/polyamic acid spinning stock solution; and (J) wet spinning or dry spraying wet spinning the spinning stock solution to obtain primary fiber of the graphene/polyamic acid, vacuum drying for 5-6 hours and imidizing to obtain graphene/polyimide composite fiber.
