NOVELTY - Bipolar plate (1) comprises at least one polymer material as base material of the composite material, and comprises cathode side (3) and anode side (4). The composite material contains carbon filling particles, and metal particles, metal carbide particles, metal nitride particles and/or conductive metal tin oxide particles. The carbon-based filling particles are carbon black, graphite, carbon graphene, carbon tube and carbon nano-tube. The content of carbon based filling particles in composite material is at least 70 vol.%. The bipolar plate is partially composed of thermoplastic polymer material. USE - The bipolar plate is useful for proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolysis device used for electrolysis of water to produce hydrogen to form oxygen and hydrogen. ADVANTAGE - The bipolar plate can be manufactured with low cost and has higher corrosion resistance and the oxidation resistance of bipolar plate anode side, makes the PEM electrolysis device with stable efficiency and long service life.
