NOVELTY - Preparation of platinum-rare earth alloy catalyst involves mixing graphitic carbon nitride, platinum precursor, rare earth precursor and carbon carrier to obtain mixture, heating and reducing the mixture to obtain reduced product, acid washing and etching. USE - Preparation of platinum-rare earth alloy catalyst used for proton exchange membrane fuel cell in electrochemical redox (claimed) for electric automobile and portable mobile power supply. ADVANTAGE - The method is simple and economical, and has low condition requirement, and uses rich nitrogen defect in carbon-nitogen network structure to anchor platinum and rare earth ion to obtain nano-scale highly dispersed catalyst under mild condition with oxygen and water. The catalyst has nano-core-shell structure or nano-porous structure, uniform particle distribution, and excellent redox performance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for platinum-rare earth alloy catalyst, which has nano-core-shell structure or nano-porous structure, and particle size of 1-3 nm.
