NOVELTY - Preparing highly wrinkled porous graphene rich in heteroatom doping comprises (i) adding carbon source material, melamine and metal source into water, mixing uniformly, drying to remove moisture, and obtaining solid block; (ii) grinding the solid block into powder to obtain a precursor; and (iii) pyrolyzing the precursor. The metal source is zinc source, aluminum source, or gallium source. The zinc source is zinc nitrate, zinc sulfate, zinc acetate, and/or zinc perchlorate. The aluminum source is aluminum isopropoxide, aluminum sulfate, and/or aluminum chloride. The gallium source is gallium nitrate, gallium bromide and/or gallium oxide. The carbon source material is D (+)- glucosamine. USE - The method is useful for preparing highly wrinkled porous graphene rich in heteroatom doping. ADVANTAGE - The method is simple. The graphene has good electrochemical performance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for highly wrinkled porous graphene rich in heteroatom doping prepared by the above method.
