NOVELTY - Product comprises: shape memory polymer material (22); and graphene material (24) incorporated into the shape memory polymer material to form a polymer system, where the polymer system is capable of transforming between original permanent shape and temporary shape. USE - Used as shape memory polymer system. ADVANTAGE - The graphene material in the product increases scratch resistance and self healing powers of polymeric material. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) a method for improving the scratch resistance and self healing powers of polymeric material including the shape memory polymer material, comprising: introducing the graphene material to the shape memory polymer material; and (2) a method of forming the product comprising: forming the shape memory polymer material; introducing the graphene material to the shape memory polymer to form a polymer system, where the polymer system is capable of transforming between original permanent shape and temporary shape; providing at least one substrate material (26, 28); providing the polymer system in temporary shape; and coupling the polymer system in temporary shape to at least one of the substrate materials.
