NOVELTY - Preparation of reinforced graphene polymethacrylimide (PMI) foam comprises mixing components, high-speed stirring, ultrasonically dispersing graphene in raw material, filling into glass mold, and closing mold, and carrying out polymerization reaction and foaming. The components comprise 2-20 pts. wt. graphene, 40-60 pts. wt. methylacrylonitrile, 40-60 pts. wt. methacrylic acid, 0.1-0.3 pts. wt. initiator, 0.5-0.8 pts. wt. foaming agent, 2-3 pts. wt. crosslinking agent, and 0.5-2 pts. wt. nucleating agent. USE - Method for preparing reinforced graphene polymethacrylimide foam (claimed) used for manufacturing foam interlayer component for ships, trains, aerospace, and aviation. ADVANTAGE - The method improves PMI tensile strength, bending strength, compressive strength, shear strength, electromagnetic shielding, and antistatic properties. The PMI foam has excellent mechanical properties.
