NOVELTY - Electroplating silver-graphene composite onto substrate involves preparing plating bath which includes dissolved water soluble silver salt, dispersed graphene flakes, and aqueous electrolyte. The electrolyte comprises silver complexing agent, cationic surfactant, and pH adjusting compound. Thbe components includes 0.3mol/L silver nitrate, 1.2 mol/L 5,5- dimethylhydantion (silver complexing agent), 0.1g/L graphene, 1mmol/L cationic surfactant to create positive zeta potential of the graphene-surfactant complex, 1mmol/L potassium hydroxide. The zeta potential of the graphene-electrolyte interface in the plating bath is adjusted to be positive and within the range of 10-30 millivolt by units of the cationic surfactant and pH adjusting compound. The negative electric potential is applied on a surface of the substrate such that electrophoresis of graphene flakes occurs. USE - Method for electroplating silver-graphene composite onto substrate. ADVANTAGE - The method enables to electroplate silver-graphene composite onto substrate that is cost effective and improves tribological performance of silver-based contacts. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Electroplating silver-graphene composite onto substrate involves preparing plating bath which includes dissolved water soluble silver salt, dispersed graphene flakes, and aqueous electrolyte. The flakes are co-deposited with the silver during electroplating to form silver-graphene composite coating on the substrate surface. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a electrical contact of electric power device, which comprises coating for example sliding contactor earthing knife contact; and (2) a electric power device, which comprises electrical contact.
