NOVELTY - Preparation of single layer graphene comprises dispersing 0.05-0.3 g graphite oxide in 70-150 ml deionized water; ultrasonically peeling off to obtain uniform transparent brown-yellow graphene oxide colloid; putting in a container; adding 40-100 ml of saturated sodium hydroxide (NaOH) alkaline solution containing 1.5-4 g ellagic acid extracted from pomegranate; continuously stirring at room temperature; after totally reacting the solution, washing the product with deionized water and ethanol; filtering; and vacuum drying the obtained product at 50-70 degrees C to obtain single layer graphene. USE - Preparation of single layer graphene (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method is low cost, green, environment-friendly, and suitable for large scale production.
