NOVELTY - A titanium dioxide/graphene nanocomposite material comprises graphene (1-25 wt.%) and remainder of titanium dioxide, where the titanium dioxide is mesoporous titanium dioxide or surface-treated titanium dioxide, uniformly dispersed in the graphene. USE - Titanium dioxide/graphene nanocomposite material is used for cathode material of lithium-ion battery, and photocatalytic material (all claimed), photodegradation of organic pollutants and photolysis of water for hydrogen production. ADVANTAGE - The titanium dioxide/graphene nanocomposite material has high crystallinity and excellent photocatalytic activity. The cathode material formed using the titanium dioxide/graphene nanocomposite material provides lithium-ion battery having excellent charging and discharging cycle characteristics, and high capacitance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) preparation of titanium dioxide/graphene nanocomposite material, which involves adding titanium source and graphene to water or organic solvent and carrying out hydrothermal synthesis or hydrolysis reaction; and (2) usage of titanium dioxide/graphene nanocomposite material in lithium-ion battery material or photocatalytic material.
