NOVELTY - A graphene functionalized polyphenylene oxide/nylon 6 composite material is obtained by melting, blending and extruding polyphenylene oxide and graphene/nylon 6 nanocomposite material. The graphene/nylon 6 nanocomposite material comprises nylon 6 and nylon 6 grafted single-layer graphene. The transverse size of nylon 6 grafted single-layer graphene is greater than 3 microns. The mass ratio of graphene and nylon 6 is (0.1-1):100. USE - Graphene functionalized polyphenylene oxide/nylon 6 composite material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The graphene functionalized polyphenylene oxide/nylon 6 composite material has impact performance, rigidity, excellent UV-aging resistance, flame retardance, and heat resistance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation method of graphene functionalized polyphenylene oxide/nylon 6 composite material, which involves (1) mixing polyphenylene oxide, graphene/nylon 6 nanocomposite material and compatibilizer maleic anhydride-grafted polyphenylene oxide according to weight ratio of (45-50):(40-45):(5-15), premixing in a mixer, and uniformly mixing to obtain premix, and (2) processing using a double-screw extruder at 220-250 degrees C and at rate of 100-200 rpm, melting, blending, extruding, cooling and granulating.
