NOVELTY - Porous spherical zinc oxide/graphene composite adsorbent has pompon structural unit which comprises one dimensional ribbon zinc oxide. The amount of zinc oxide is 30-80 wt.% and particle size is 2-5 mu meter. The specific surface area of pompon-shaped zinc oxide/graphene is 120-360 square meter per gram. USE - Porous spherical zinc oxide/graphene composite adsorbent for removing heavy metal ion in water (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The porous spherical zinc oxide/graphene composite adsorbent has wide application, large specific surface area, high mechanical strength and chemical stability, good recovery of composite adsorbent, and has good processing and recycling water containing heavy metal ions. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing porous spherical zinc oxide/graphene composite adsorbent, which involves: (A) taking graphite as raw material and synthesizing graphene oxide by using Hummer method; (B) dispersing graphene oxide in water solution to obtain stable oxidized graphene oxide suspension; (C) adding metallic zinc salt to oxidized graphene suspension to obtain metal zinc salt of oxidized graphene suspension; (D) adding 0.05-4 molar precipitating solution dropwise to metal zinc salt of oxidized graphene suspension and stirring with speed of 500-2000 revolutions per minute to obtain suspension; (E) transferring suspension to polytetrafluoroethylene liner and reacting at 90-180 degrees C for 6-72 hours; (F) cooling reaction mixture to room temperature; and (G) centrifuging and washing to obtain porous spherical zinc oxide/graphene composite adsorbent.
