NOVELTY - Electron emission source 10 comprises a first electrode 100, an insulating layer 102, and a second electrode 104 successively stacked in an order. The second electrode is a graphene layer, where thickness of graphene layer ranges from 0.1-50 nanometers. The graphene layer defines an electron emission end to emit electrons. USE - Electron emission source. ADVANTAGE - The electron emission source increases emission current, reduces energy loss of electron during the movement, and improves electron emission rate. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for making an electron emission source, which involves depositing an insulating layer on a surface of a first electrode, where insulating layer comprises a first surface and a second surface opposite to the first surface, and first electrode is in contact with the first surface of the insulating layer; and depositing a second electrode on the second surface of the insulating layer.
