NOVELTY - Producing an open-ended single-wall carbon nanotube involves providing energy to a graphene. USE - For producing an open-ended single-wall carbon nanotube (claimed), used for forming nanostructures, including branched carbon nanotubes, and carbon fractals. ADVANTAGE - The method enables to produce open-ended single-wall carbon nanotube in a simple and cost-effective manner. Based on the simple manner of production, the nanostructures can be produced in bulk quantities (e.g. several hundred tons per year) at relatively low cost of manufacture.
