NOVELTY - Preparation of a multifunctional material comprises dispersing nano graphene oxide in alcohol; adding an inorganic element containing gadolinium, barium, and fluorine, where the mole ratio of gadolinium, barium, and fluorine is 1:1:5; adding polyethylene glycol (PEG), where the weight ratio of graphene oxide and PEG is 3-5:1 stirring for 30 minutes; and carrying out solvent thermal reaction for 23-24 hours at 180-190 degrees C. USE - Method for the preparation of a multifunctional material used in a nuclear magnetic resonance contrast agent for magnetic resonance imaging, and for preparing a medicine for treating cancer (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The multifunctional material has good dispersibility, good water-solubility, and is inexpensive.
