NOVELTY - A metal-air battery comprises an air electrode containing graphene, where the air electrode having randomly arranged graphene nanosheets forms a network of channels (102) defining continuous flow paths through the air electrode and by oxygen diffusing through the channels. USE - As a metal-air battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The battery is a rechargeable lithium battery; shows extremely high capacities; and has a specific capacity of greater than or equal to 5000 mAh/g active material (i.e. graphene/carbon). DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a battery comprising a cathode having graphene, where the cathode having randomly arranged graphene nanosheets forms a network of channels defining continuous flow paths through the cathode and by liquid electrolyte diffusing through the channels.
