NOVELTY - A graphene-augmented carbon fiber (34A) comprises graphene film (35) disposed in carbon fiber filament (36). USE - A graphene-augmented carbon fiber for composite material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - Strength of composite material is increased. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) composite material comprising graphene-augmented carbon fiber (34A) and matrix material; and (2) process of increasing strength of composite material containing carbon reinforcement fibers and resin matrix material which involves wrapping graphene film (35) on carbon reinforcement fiber in spiral orientation to form graphene-augmented carbon fibers, combining resin matrix material with graphene-augmented carbon fibers to form prepreg material, and curing prepreg material to form composite material.
