NOVELTY - A nanocomposite coating comprises a two-dimensional material, and a polymer. The nanocomposite coating is semi-permeable and provided on porous material to improve selectivity towards one phase over others thereby enabling separation of that phase by mass transfer. USE - Nanocomposite coating used for phase transformation and mass transfer unit for separating low temperature liquid phase (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The nanocomposite coating provides porous material having improved the selectivity towards one phase over others thereby enabling separation of that phase by mass transfer. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) the phase transformation and mass transfer unit; and (2) separation of low temperature liquid phase.
