NOVELTY - Manganese-cobalt-iron ternary catalyst comprises carbon material or metal material as carrier, and cubic manganese-cobalt-iron ternary inverse spinel nanoparticles as active material, where the catalyst is manganese-cobalt-iron ternary inverse spinel catalyst with cubical shape and spherical shape, the loading amount is 20-60%, the molar ratio of manganese, cobalt and iron is 0-1:0-1:1-3, the carbon material is carbon black, graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide, acetylene black or carbon nanotube, and the metal material is foam nickel sheet or foam copper sheet. USE - The catalyst is useful in electrolysis of water to produce oxygen (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The catalyst exhibits high catalytic activity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for (1) preparing the manganese-cobalt-iron ternary catalyst; and (2) using the catalyst in electrolysis of water to produce oxygen.
