NOVELTY - Preparing metal beryllium by fluoride molten salt electrolysis beryllium oxide comprises (i) constructing beryllium fluoride-MFn molten salt system, where MFn is alkali metal fluorides and/or alkaline earth metal fluoride except beryllium fluoride, (ii) adding beryllium oxide into the molten beryllium fluoride-MFn molten salt system, and (iii) electrolyzing, and precipitating solid metal beryllium on the cathode. USE - Preparing metal beryllium by fluoride molten salt electrolysis beryllium oxide used in defense, aerospace and nuclear industry. ADVANTAGE - The method shortens the process flow, improves the straight yield of beryllium, and generates carbon dioxide and oxygen on the anode, and is more environment-friendly.
