NOVELTY - The device (100) has first electrode (12) which is comprised of carbon and is connected to positive pole (14) of a voltage source (16). A second electrode (20) is connected to negative pole (22) and is connected to the voltage source. The voltage source is set up to provide an electrical voltage field between the first electrode and the second electrode through which the positively charged carbon ions are caused to accumulate in a partial area of the second electrode. The second electrode is comprised of a graphene attachment region having graphene and is provided for the carbon ions accumulate in the graphene attachment region so as to form the graphene layer (10). USE - Device for producing graphene layer used for wide range of technical and non-technical areas of application. ADVANTAGE - The industrially attractive production of a graphene sheet is enabled. The chemical additives are dispensed in the production of graphene. The highly precise movement of the first electrode along the first direction of movement is achieved, so that highly precise production of the graphene layer is enabled. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The controller (30) is provided to cause the movement kinematics (24) to move first electrode along the first direction of movement (26). A production chamber (35) is designed to form a vacuum or an inert gas atmosphere in interior during the production of the graphene layer. The first electrode is comprised of graphite. A carrier layer (42) is partially arranged in a region of the second electrode. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for producing graphene layer, which involves performing formation of an electrical voltage field between the first electrode and the second electrode through which the positively charged carbon ions are caused to be deposited in a partial area (40) of the second electrode and moving first electrode along direction of movement in order to form the graphene layer along direction of movement.
