NOVELTY - Production of styrenic resin composition involves supplying a styrenic resin and carbon to a twin-screw extruder having a specific energy of 0.13 kWh/kg or more and 0.33 kWh/kg and melt-kneading. USE - Production of styrenic resin composition used for forming foamable styrene resin composition (claimed) for forming foam-molded article used as heat insulating material. Uses include but are not limited to building, food container box, cold insulation box, cushioning material, agricultural and fisheries box, bathroom and hot water storage tank. ADVANTAGE - The styrenic resin composition provides foam molded article having high foaming ratio and low heat conductivity, i.e. high heat insulating performance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for production of a foamable styrene resin composition, which involves adding a foaming agent to the styrene resin composition.
