NOVELTY - Symmetrical hybrid super capacitor comprises electrode material of anode and cathode that are composite material of carbon material and intermediate valence transition metal compound, and the electrolyte of the asymmetrical super capacitor is an alkaline electrolyte. The intermediate valence transition metal compound is an oxide and/or hydroxide of an intermediate-valence transition metal, and the transition metal is manganese (Mn), iron (Fe), cobalt (Co) and/or nickel (Ni). The oxide of the intermediate valence transition metal Mn is manganese oxide, and the hydroxide is manganese hydroxide. The oxide of the transition metal Fe in the intermediate valence state is iron oxide, and the hydroxide is iron(II) hydroxide. The oxide of the intermediate transition metal Co is cobalt oxide, and the hydroxide is cobalt hydroxide. The oxide of the intermediate transition metal Ni is nickel oxide, and the hydroxide is nickel hydroxide. USE - Used as symmetrical hybrid super capacitor. ADVANTAGE - The super capacitor: integrates the working modes of electric double layer capacitance, pseudo capacitance and hybrid capacitance; and has large working voltage window and specific capacity, high power density and energy density.
