NOVELTY - Adsorbent for selectively removing hexavalent chromium comprises amino-functional graphene nano composite material including amino-containing functionalized graphene nano composite material synthesized by one-step low-temperature reaction with thiourea and 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane as modified agent. USE - The adsorbent is useful for adsorption of heavy metal hexavalent chromium (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The adsorbent utilizes thiourea and 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane as main modifiers; achieves the chemical modification of graphene oxide by a one-step low-temperature reaction; controls the reaction conditions to synthesize amino-functional graphene nano composite with relatively high specific surface area as adsorbents for adsorbing chromium; avoids self-accumulation during low-temperature processing of graphene oxide through the introduction of thiourea and silane molecule; can selectively remove hexavalent chromium in the water body; has high adsorption capacity for hexavalent chromium and has good adsorption effect. The method is simple and environmentally friendly. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: preparing adsorbent for selectively removing hexavalent chromium comprising fully mixing the graphene oxide aqueous dispersion, thiourea and 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane, carrying out low temperature reaction, separating solids, washing and freeze-drying to obtain adsorbent; and use method of adsorbent for adsorption of heavy metal hexavalent chromium comprising (1) adjusting the pH value of the solution containing hexavalent chromium and (2) dispersing the adsorbent in the hexavalent chromium-containing solution in step (1), fully mixing, contacting, using adsorbent to adsorbs hexavalent chromium in the hexavalent chromium-containing solution and realizing the removal of hexavalent chromium in the hexavalent chromium containing solution.
