DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a method for preparing a carbon nanotube catalyst, which involves mixing the active component solution, the inactive component solution and the carbon carrier to obtain a premixed solution, and adding the premixed solution to the carbon carrier to obtain a precursor solution; (2) a carbon nanotube catalyst, which comprises a carbon support and a metal oxide distributed in the carbon support; and (3) a method for preparing carbon nanotubes, which involves using a carbon nanotube catalyst as a catalyst to prepare carbon nanotubes by a vapor deposition method.
