NOVELTY - Electrochemical cell (10) comprises an electrode including an electrically-conductive material and an electrode active material, where the electrically-conductive material includes one or more porous inorganic carbon materials selected from carbon black, carbon nanotubes, carbon nanofibers, carbon dots, activated carbon, graphite, graphene, graphene oxide, and graphene nanoribbons, an electrolyte solution including an electrolytic solvent, and housing that encloses the electrode and electrolyte solution under a gaseous atmosphere, where the gaseous atmosphere (22) includes a greenhouse gas. The electrolyte solution is in contact with the electrode (12), and the electrode active material has a solubility of at least 0.01 M in the electrolytic solvent. USE - Electrochemical cell.
