NOVELTY - Production of hydrogenated substance comprises placing a sample of a precursor comprising two dimensional graphene, boron nitride, gallium nitride, molybdenum sulfide, graphitic carbon nitride, one dimensional carbon nanotubes, or hydrogen exfoliated graphite in a high pressure cell for hydrogenation; depressurizing the sample in the cell under specified temperature and vacuum; pressurizing the sample under hydrogen atmosphere; and repeating depressurizing and pressurizing steps to form the hydrogenated substance. USE - Method for producing hydrogenated substance (claimed) used for spintronics and other semiconductor devices. ADVANTAGE - The method can produce hydrogenated substance that is thermally stable when treated for several hours at up to 900 degrees C.
