NOVELTY - Sensor (10) comprises a substrate (11); a graphene sheet (12) positioned on the substrate; and tungsten oxide nanorods (13) doped on the graphene sheet. USE - The sensor is useful in detecting nitrogen dioxide (claimed) for hospitals, medical facilities, medicinal manufacturing and related industries, and chemical handling industries. ADVANTAGE - The sensor detects nitrogen dioxide gas within 150 seconds at 20-35?Oc; has very high sensitivity and selectivity to nitrogen dioxide gas; has detection limit of ≤ 0.5 ppm; has very short reaction time to nitrogen dioxide gas and excellent correlation coefficient and quantitative curve, so it is very suitable for real-time nitrogen dioxide gas detection and quantification is possible; can be produced in simple and efficient manner; and detects nitrogen dioxide gas in wide range of fast response speed and low concentration of 0-10 ppm and high concentration of 10-100 ppm.
