NOVELTY - A lignin derivative-based phosphorus-containing epoxy resin comprises structure (I) and (II). USE - Lignin derivative-based phosphorus-containing epoxy resin used for forming thermally conductive intrinsic flame-retardant lignin derivative-based epoxy resin composite material for flame retardant materials, coatings, microelectronic packaging materials and adhesives (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The lignin derivative-based phosphorus-containing epoxy resin improves the stability of the thermally conductive intrinsic epoxy resin composite material and prevents the migration of flame retardants and has excellent flame retardance and mechanical properties. The lignin derivative-based phosphorus-containing epoxy resin is prepared by simple and economical method. The thermally conductive intrinsic flame-retardant epoxy resin raw material is bio-based renewable lignin derivative. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A lignin derivative-based phosphorus-containing epoxy resin comprises structure of formula (I) and (II). group (A) = group of formula (a); group (B') = group of formula (b); R1 = group of formula (a1) or (b1); R2 = group of formula (a2) or (b2);and n = not defined. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) manufacture of lignin derivative-based phosphorus-containing epoxy resin, which involves (i) dissolving diamine and lignin derivative without catalyst, in an organic solvent and heating to 50-100 degrees C to react for 1-5 hours, adding 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide (DOPO), continuously reacting at 50-100 degrees C for 1-5 hours, then dissolving, recrystallizing, and performing solid-liquid separation and drying to obtain lignin derivative-based bisphenol, reacting the lignin derivative-based bisphenol obtained in step (i) with epichlorohydrin and tetrabutylammonium bromide at 60-120 degrees C for 3-8 hours, and cooling to 20-35 degrees C, adding sodium hydroxide solution to react for 3-8 hours, dissolving, extracting, and rotating to remove unreacted raw materials and impurities; and (2) thermally conductive intrinsic flame-retardant lignin derivative-based epoxy resin composite material, which comprises 0.5-20 pts. wt. reduced graphene oxide aerogel, 100 pts. wt. epoxy resin and 5-30 pts. wt. curing agent. The epoxy resin includes a commercial epoxy resin and the lignin derivative-based phosphorus-containing epoxy resin in mass ratio of 9:1-0:10.
