NOVELTY - A substrate (10,32) is heated and reacted with a reaction gas containing carbon sources. A graphene film (20) is formed on the substrate by dry process, wet process, or rolling process, and a graphene protective film is thus formed. USE - Formation of graphene protective film used for barrier coating sheet used for article e.g. organic light emitting device, optoelectronic device, optical device, light emitting device, organic semiconductor device, liquid crystal display, solar apparatus, thin film sensor and drinking container (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The graphene protective film is economically formed with favorable gas and moisture barrier properties, heat resistance, chemical resistance, mechanical characteristics, and excellent flexibility and elasticity, and improves gas and moisture barrier properties of devices to thereby maintain electrical characteristics of devices for long period of time.
