NOVELTY - Catalyst comprises 45-65 wt.% copper, 25-45 wt.% zinc oxide, 5-10 wt.% alumina and 5-15 wt.% graphene oxide. USE - Catalyst used for synthesizing copper based methanol oxidation product. ADVANTAGE - The catalyst has high activity, high stability, high carbon dioxide conversion rate, and ensures high yield of copper based methanol oxidation product. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing catalyst, which involves: (A) dispersing graphene oxide in deionized water to obtain graphite oxide solution; (B) adding graphite oxide solution to copper(ii) nitrate trihydrate, zinc nitrate hexahydrate and aluminum nitrate nonahydrate mixed nitrate solution; (C) adding mixed nitrate solution to mixed solution of nitric acid solution; (D) adding mixed nitric acid solution to mixed solution of nitric oxide; (E) mixing mixed nitrate solution and graphene oxide at 343-353 Kelvin; (F) adding sodium carbonate solution to mixed solution and stirring to maintain pH value at 6-8; (G) stirring continuously for 4-5 hours and mixing mixed solution with the graphene oxide; (H) stirring continuously for 10 hours; (I) pouring mixture into vacuum filtration device; (J) washing product with deionized water; and (K) drying product at 348-368 Kelvin and calcining at 613-633 Kelvin for 4-6 hours under argon atmosphere to obtain catalyst.
