NOVELTY - Low-cost alkaline secondary battery anode material, comprises manganese dioxide and layered hydroxide compound composite anode material, or manganese dioxide and partially oxidized layered hydroxide compound, or manganese dioxide and layered oxyhydroxide compound, or from manganese dioxide, conductive materials and layered hydroxide compound or partially oxidized layered hydroxide compound or layered oxyhydroxide compound composed of composite anode material. The composite anode material has three-dimensional structure, multi-level porous structure or mixture of multiple structures in the coating structure. USE - The low-cost alkaline secondary battery anode material is useful alkaline secondary battery positive plate for alkaline secondary battery (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The low-cost alkaline secondary battery anode material has high discharge platform, high gram capacity, and excellent cycle stability, which improves the cycle stability and reversibility of zinc-manganese alkaline secondary batteries; and improves extended its cycle life when compared with the existing manganese electrode. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Low-cost alkaline secondary battery anode material, comprises manganese dioxide and layered hydroxide compound NixMyAZ(OH)2×(Ba-)b×mH2O composite anode material, or composite anode material composed of manganese dioxide and partially oxidized layered hydroxide compound NixMyAZ(OH)2×(Ba-)b×mH2O, or composite anode material composed of manganese dioxide and layered oxyhydroxide compound NixMyAZOOH, or from manganese dioxide, conductive materials and layered hydroxide compound NixMyAZ(OH)2×(Ba-)b×mH2O or partially oxidized layered hydroxide compound NixMyAZ(OH)2×(Ba-)bm×H2O or layered oxyhydroxide compound NixMyAZOOH composed of composite anode material. The composite anode material has three-dimensional structure, multi-level porous structure or mixture of multiple structures in the coating structure. M = Bi or Ti; A = Ce, Al, Zn, Ca, Mg, Co, Y, Ga, Sb, Yb or Cu; Ba-= OH-, Cl-, F-, PO43-, SO42-, CO32-, NO3-, BO2-, MoO42-or WO42-; x = 0.9-0.5; y = 0.3-0.1; z = 0.2-0.01; x+y + z = 1; and b and m = greater than 0. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: 1. alkaline secondary battery positive plate; 2. alkaline secondary battery; and 3. preparing low-cost alkaline secondary battery anode material. The method utilizes manganese dioxide precursor, soluble nickel salt, soluble bismuth salt or soluble titanium salt, metal salt, deionized water, solution composed of alkaline hydroxide, phosphate, tungstate, molybdate, chloride, fluoride, carbonate, metaborate, and/or borate.
