NOVELTY - Alloy comprises 1.3-2.5 wt.% copper, 0.7-1.4 wt.% magnesium, 0.4-0.8 wt.% silicon, aluminum and unavoidable impurities. USE - The alloy is useful for preparing aluminum-based composite materials with low natural aging hardness and high artificial aging strength. ADVANTAGE - The alloy: produces composite material after artificial aging is higher than that of the high-strength aluminum alloy-based (2009Al and 2024Al etc.) with the same reinforcement phase content, has low hardness in natural aging state and good plasticity, and can be cold deformation process without cracking, form plastic in natural aging state with good processing performance and high service strength thus suitable for thin-wall, the production and application of complex aluminum-based composite material with relatively complex shape. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for aluminum-based composite material prepared by using the alloy and reinforcing phase with a ceramic phase silicon carbide, alumina, boron carbide, titanium carbide or titanium diboride or a nano-carbon material is carbon nano-tube or graphene.
