NOVELTY - Preparing graphene nanobelt comprises adding carbon nanotube as a working electrode, lead plate as counter electrode, mercury/mercury sulfate as reference electrode and ion liquid as electrolyte into an electrolytic cell to completely soak, applying 0.1-20 V to the working electrode, then applying -20 to -0.1 V working electrode, centrifuging the reacted mixture to separate carbon nanotube and residue under a high speed, filtering the residue through an organic solvent, washing the filtered residue by ethanol, filtering the washed product, and then drying. USE - The method is useful for preparing graphene nanobelt (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method is capable of preparing the graphene nanobelt with good quality and increased production efficiency in a simple manner. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing graphene nanobelt comprises adding 10-120 nm of carbon nanotube as a working electrode, lead plate as a counter electrode, mercury/mercury sulfate as reference electrode and ion liquid as electrolyte into an electrolytic cell to completely soak, applying 0.1-20 V to the working electrode for 0.1-10 hours, applying -20 to -0.1 V to the working electrode for 0.1-10 hours to react, centrifuging the reacted mixture to separate carbon nanotube and residue under a high speed, filtering the residue through an organic solvent for many times, washing the filtered residue by ethanol, acetone and deionized water, filtering the washed product, and drying the filtered product.
