NOVELTY - The method involves washing a carrier, a cover plate and a copper foil with acetone, alcohol, and deionized water. The carrier, cover and copper foil are dried for later use. The copper foil is placed into the carrier, and a cover is placed on the carrier. The carrier with the copper foil and cover plate is placed in the middle area of the quartz tube in the chemical vapor deposition furnace. The carbon source is passed into the quartz tube, and flow rate of the carbon source gas is adjusted such that the pressure in the quartz tube is 1 kilopascal (KPa) to 10KPa. The accessing of carbon source is stopped, and temperature of the chemical vapor deposition furnace is kept below 100 degrees C under the state of hydrogen. The carrier is taken out after the cavity of the chemical vapor deposition furnace is cooled to room temperature, and a graphene powder is obtained on the surface of the carrier. The carbon source is one of acetylene, ethylene, methane, propylene and butane. USE - Method for preparing graphene powder using chemical vapor deposition. ADVANTAGE - The method does not require any substrate. The method is simple, fast, and effective. The solution contamination does not occur. The method obtains graphene powder with better quality.
