▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - The method (300) involves drawing (306) a porous nonwoven fabric formed of continuous fibers through slurry of discontinuous fibers suspended in dispersive liquid i.e. water. A network of the fibers attached to the fabric is formed (308). A fiber-modified interlayer is formed (312), where forming the network comprises interspersing a portion of the fiber through thickness of the fabric, and the fibers include carbon nanotubes, graphene platelets, carbon whiskers, chopped carbon fibers, milled carbon fibers and carbon nanofibers. The fibers are made of thermoplastic material or carbonaceous material. USE - Method for manufacturing fiber-modified interlayer used to fabricate reinforcement materials. ADVANTAGE - The interlayer-toughened reinforcing fabric has high strength-to-weight ratios, corrosion resistance, and other favorable properties. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a method for manufacturing an interlayer-toughened reinforcing fabric; and (2) a method for manufacturing a composite structure. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) - The drawing shows a flowchart representation of a method for manufacturing fiber-modified interlayer used to fabricate reinforcement materials.
