NOVELTY - Electric motor comprises stator having a stator slot and composite material within the stator slot, the composite material including a matrix material and additive particles having thermal conductivity, and anisotropic electric properties. The additive particles are oriented in an aligned configuration and set to provide the composite material with thermal conductivity and reduced electrical conductivity in one direction based on the aligned configuration. USE - Electric motor for thermal management. ADVANTAGE - The thermally conductive materials is used as thermal conductors to transport the thermal energy from the components where it is generated to a point of safe dissipation. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for thermal management in an electric motor, which involves: depositing a matrix material into a stator slot of an electric motor, the matrix material being settable, and including additive particles having thermal conductivity and anisotropic electric properties,applying an electromagnetic field to the matrix material to orient the additive particles in an aligned configuration, and setting the matrix material while the additive particles are in the aligned configuration to form a composite material having thermal conductivity and reduced electrical conductivity in at least one direction based on the aligned configuration.
